Article 50 of the EU AI Act becomes generally applicable: those who publish AI-generated content must disclose it visibly.
TheHumanBehind is an independent, voluntary registry — not an official EU registry, and registering does not by itself fulfil legal obligations. It is where it stays on record who answers for an avatar.

What we protect
A public registry: anyone can search it, free, always.
Your likeness
Your face and your voice are yours. If a clone exists, here it is on record whose it is and who answers for it.

The date of your registration proves it was you, first. A public, unalterable record.

If an avatar speaks about health, money or law, it will be known whether a qualified professional stands behind it.

Your email, never public
The record is public; your contact details are not. Your email is never exposed — not even through the API.
Untouchable date and hash
The database itself forbids changing them — administrators included.
No ID document stored
Verification (from September) confirms your identity without us keeping your ID.

Cloudflare and Supabase in European regions, with row-level isolation (RLS).
Secure sessions
HttpOnly cookies; no tokens exposed to JavaScript.
